Interview with D4i
SHIVRAJ: How did you get into cardistry or where did you see it first?
D4I: I was watching magic videos on YouTube and coincidentally found a cardistry video (I don't remember which it was). That video impressed me and from then on I started with cardistry.
SHIVRAJ: How would you define 'cardistry' in your own words?
SHIVRAJ: Who/What inspires you the most and why?
D4I: Magic tricks inspire me a lot. Most magic tricks (moves) are really "beautiful”. Performing magic tricks perfectly is like an art. So I prefer magic tricks more then cardistry itself.
SHIVRAJ: What is your creative process of making moves?
D4I: While making a move, I try not to look subjective. I try to see my move objectively (using my camera). For me cardistry is all about performance. When someone is watching my moves, I think about “How does one think of my move?” and I think its a important thing to look into.
SHIVRAJ: How do you overcome a 'Creative Block'?
D4I: Simply I quit thinking about Cardistry. Make things clear and work on polishing my existing moves.
SHIVRAJ: Describe your style in one word/sentence.
SHIVRAJ: What role does the art play in your life or in simple words why do you do it?
SHIVRAJ: How do you think you can help in improving the field of cardistry?
D4I: Joining social networking sites like Instagram. Instagram makes it very easy to upload new moves and very fast to get a evaluation. I'll be happy if someone will stimulated by watching my video.
SHIVRAJ: What is your favourite move by you or by someone else? What do you like about it?
D4I: Mantra by Tobias Levin. I just like the acrobatic one handed move. Just great.
SHIVRAJ: What do you think about the concept 'Cardestroy'?
D4I: Reusing playing cards is a cool idea. It can do something that a normal straight deck can’t. Cardestroy has high potential of growth!
SHIVRAJ: What genre of music do you mostly listen to?
D4I: Anime Songs.
SHIVRAJ: What do you do other than cardistry?
D4I: Watch anime & manga.
SHIVRAJ: What are you further planning to do in your life?
D4I: I haven't decided yet.
SHIVRAJ: Any contest/contests you've participated in/won?
D4I: Nope, nothing :(
SHIVRAJ: Any advice for the community?
D4I: Lets open up the possibility of Cardistry!
SHIVRAJ: Any last thoughts? (If any)
SHIVRAJ: Thanks a lot for your time! Have a nice day, cheers!
