"You can't use up creativity. The more you use, the more you have" - Maya Angelou

SHIVRAJ: How did you get into cardistry or where did you see it first?

SCOTT: I got into Cardistry through magic, as most people do nowadays. I was browsing YouTube at the time learning magic and I stumbled across an old Fontaine video (Skill Con Pop Up) and I watched more and more that evening, then I was hooked.

SHIVRAJ: How would you define 'cardistry' in your own words?

SCOTT: Cardistry is pretty much anything that is visually fascinating done with playing cards.

SHIVRAJ: Who/What inspires you the most and why?

SCOTT: For me, I am inspired by the people who have a unique approach to cardistry and that they know exactly what they are doing. You can see clearly that everything they create is perfectly suited to them as a person. Some good examples are Zach Mueller and Noel Heath, who both continue to inspire me even today.

SHIVRAJ: What is your creative process of making moves?

SCOTT: I normally have a rough idea, which then I sit down to film so I don't forget how it looks. What is funny during this process, with almost all of my moves I have created, I come up with the better version of that rough idea while filming which normally leads me to the final move. I also stick on music that I feel links to what move I'm creating at that time, so maybe jazz for cuts and trap for isolations, as I feel like having music playing while you are creating inspires you without actually knowing.

SHIVRAJ: How do you overcome a 'Creative Block'?

SCOTT: I don't get much creative blocks, but when I do I normally stop doing that idea for a few days, ignoring it completely. So when I get back to it I have a whole new way to look at it and test out new movements that i din't do before hand. Never ditch old ideas!

SHIVRAJ: Describe your style in one word/sentence.

SHIVRAJ: What role does the art play in your life or in simple words why do you do it?

SCOTT: Why would you not do it? Cardistry is the best thing I've ever taken up in my life. Although I have not been in the scene for too long, I feel I've clicked with so many people, made so many awesome friends and created moves I would never have seen myself doing a few years ago. We are blessed to have such a warm, encouraging community.

SHIVRAJ: How do you think you can help in improving the field of cardistry?

SCOTT: I feel like when it comes down to encouraging people and their creativity, just remind them that they need to try it themselves without fear of going wrong. That is what will improve the field of Cardistry.

SHIVRAJ: What is your favourite move by you or by someone else? What do you like about it?

SCOTT: My favourite original would have to be tiny hands right now.

I have about 6 different isolations that utilize the original move, all of which are unique and visually appealing in their own way. I feel like it's also one of my most requested moves/most popular move within the community.

SHIVRAJ: Which is your favourite cardistry video of all time?

SCOTT: 100% Cardistry High, as I feel that really kicked my creativity for isolations.

SHIVRAJ: What do you think about the concept 'Cardestroy'?

SCOTT: Cardestroy is amazing. I'm super happy I have been in the community long enough to see its progression from day one. It just keeps on getting better and better.

SHIVRAJ: What genre of music do you mostly listen to?

SCOTT: I dig electronic hip-hop beats. I really click with that vibe.

SHIVRAJ: What do you do other than cardistry?

SCOTT: I love creating things away from just card flourishes. I love to draw/paint, which is one of my other favourite way to express myself. My favourite subjects at school would have to be art and design class.

SHIVRAJ: What are you further planning to do in your life?

SCOTT: All I want to do right now is hang out with my friends from around the world, travel with them, explore and learn new sub-cultures/art forms and meet new people :)

SHIVRAJ: Any contest/contests you've participated in/won?

SCOTT: Not that I can remember of.

SHIVRAJ: Any advice for the community?

SCOTT: Keep relative and active. For all the people who don't think they can make it, keep trying and don't forget where you come from when you do make it. ;)

SHIVRAJ: Any last thoughts? (If any)

SCOTT: Nope.

SHIVRAJ: Thanks a lot for your time! Have a nice day, cheers!

SCOTT: Glad I could take part in this Shivraj, have a good day!
